Today was sort of a carbon copy of yesterday. Only I didn't get lots of phone calls and messages wishing me a happy birthday. We were stuck at home again, trying to rest two of the smalls and keep the germs confined. I yelled too much and the kids drove me nuts. In fairness to the smallest, it was only his brother and sister who were doing the driving. A late afternoon appointment to the doctor told us that Missy's bugs will clear on their own, hopefully within a week, but our poor wee one has a double ear infection. Another two days of semi-miserableness before the antibiotics start doing their job. Which is made harder by a boy who won't take any pain relief the majority of the time. And I seem to be wasting a fair bit of it trying to smuggle it into food and drink that he's not interested in having anyway.
It's so ironic that we made our way through Winter unscathed by illness, when we were so expecting it, and now with warmer days here, the bugs arrive to put a little dampener on our start to Spring. We push on and by this time next week, our household will be well and a very excited five year old will be counting down the few sleeps left before she will blow out an extra candle on her birthday cake. There is much to do between now and then.
Joining Rebekah for Ten on Ten as always.
I hope your wee family get better soon. Knock on wood, this winter only my husband and I got sick and my wee one was spared.
ReplyDeleteLooking at your books on your couch, we have almost similar books on our shelves too. :)

ReplyDeleteLove, love, love your set of photographs. The bright flowers, half-eaten cupcake, pointed toes, reading in the bath. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are gorgeous! The "reader by the tub" is such a sweet capture.
ReplyDeleteYour kids are so blessed to have such mundane moments (reading a book to a sib in the bath) captured so thoughtfully and beautifully- a record of their affection for one another.
ReplyDeleteYour photos always bring a smile to my face x
