{snap it} :: cold

It's {cold} in the mornings. Freezing mostly. When I am dragged from the warmth of hubby and my beautiful big bed, layered in flannel, wool and blankets, I announce dressing gowns and slippers. Then I walk out my bedroom door, into the passage, where I tap that little button to make the heater come to life in the ceiling, and soon enough, we are warm again. The biggest two strip off their dressing gowns and slippers, I am sure the youngest would too if he knew how. What is it with kids and no shoes? Drives me mad this time of year.

Some days call for something a little more fancy than slippers. Like hot fuschia Mary Poppins heels.

If you'd like to join in with Snap It, head over to the lovely Sarah's.

  2. oooh I hate those chilly mornings! We set our heaters to come on 30mins before we get up so it is toasty warm when we get out of bed. I think it is all kids, my eldest still won't wear winter pj's. Makes me cold just looking at him. Gorgeous photo as usual xx

  8. What a beautiful photo, your gal is stylin' Tahnee, she is one to watch... the next top model or maybe even fashion designer.
    And yes yes yes! The no socks/shoes issue is driving me bonkers right now... they are no sooner on (or put 'back' on) and they've taken them off again, aaarrrggghhh! xo

  10. I hear you - the dressing gown and ugg boots that stay on for fleeting moments and even then under duress!!

    Holidays for us started today, we have visitors arriving from Melbourne on Friday, a family of 4 who will stay 4 nights. It will be tight fitting into our little house but we will all love it. Other than that our holidays are unplanned and unstructured. There will be the usual suspects a visit or two to Questacon (Canberra's answer to Science Works), crafting, painting, the park, our new favourite destination 'that trampoline', baking, dancing, singing.

    We are planning a family get away in the near future, though not up North to the sunshine like you, I think we will explore a little of our local surrounds, Blue Mountains perhaps?!!
