52 weeks of grateful :: carl

At 2.30pm this Friday, my baby sister will marry the man who makes her world feel right. The one who makes the awesome stuff, extraordinary. Who makes the good stuff, great. Who makes the average stuff, good. Who makes the miserable stuff, bearable. The one she has chosen to enter parenthood with, to raise a family with, to grow old and grey with. The one who makes her truly happy.

Today I am grateful for her happiness. Grateful she found someone so wonderful, so loving, so kind, so warm. Someone who makes her shine. Someone named Carl. Or Carlos. Or Fabrootz. Or Gussy. My brother-in-law. Where the in-law bit just falls away. I am grateful for you. For bringing so much joy to my sister's life, and to ours.

My heart is bursting with love for you and Courtney right now. On Friday afternoon, when we hear you pronounced as man and wife, the church will be a flood of applause, and cheer and love. So much love. And I will be forever grateful you made my baby sister's world complete.

More gratefulness over at beautiful Bron's place.

    1. thanks catherine, he is pretty special. we have been so lucky with all our 'additions' to the family between my sisters and I. we are just waiting for our brother now.. ;) I have a Nikon D3000 and for the majority of the photos you see here from this year, they have been shot with a Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G prime lens. my other lens is just the standard Nikkor 18-55mm that comes with the camera. I am currently deciding whether to buy another lens, or save my pennies for a better body.. expensive hobby! x

    2. Thanks so much Tahnee for replying:) When I recently bought my Nikon D7000 I got myself a prime lens too but it's the 1.8d which is the older one and after researching I think that your lens sounds like a much better one. I'm a bit annoyed because I wasn't offered the other lens at the time and can't return the old one now:( Oh well I'll just have to save up but it is a very expensive hobby but a fun one. Have a great weekend. x
