weekend love
It was my mum's birthday a few weeks ago and dad gave her tickets to see Jersey Boys while they were here for all the excitement. Three tickets to be precise, so baby sis and I could tag along. If you're in Melbourne and haven't seen it - GO!!!!!!!!! It is absolutely necessary for that many exclamation marks. My goodness. It's been quite a few years since I've seen a musical, possibly ten years.. after I moved to Melbourne. Majority of my musical attendance has been in London and Glasgow. As you do. There is no amount of over the top fabulous words I can use to describe this unbelievably BRILLIANT show. The cast is stellar - obviously I have no idea what the other Four Seasons cast sound like (understudies, rest nights etc) but the Frankie we had was UN-FREAKIN-BELIEVABLE. All of them were. I stood up to applaud at the end. In front of plenty of people who stayed seated. I couldn't have cared less. My hands hurt from clapping so hard! I was so sad to leave the theatre. I could have stayed and watched it all over again. I would absolutely pay to see it again. Thanks dad for sending us on a girls night out! Just what I needed after such a big week. And for all you lovely Perth folk - it's headed your way next.
That was just Friday night - what a way to start the weekend. Saturday saw me have a much needed sleep in, and the remainder was spent with family. We talked and laughed and ate and drank and talked and laughed some more. We toasted dear old Jean who was laid to rest this afternoon after lighting up every life she ever spent a moment of time in. You will be sorely missed, dear sweet Jeanie.
Sunday was quiet and relaxed, baking a few things for lunch boxes and preparing for longer days at school and the inevitable exhaustion that will appear some time later this week. I'm just so looking forward to that part.
I hope your weekend was spent with loved ones too xx
